Go Sonics specialises in providing ultrasound services within rural areas of New South Wales.  We provide a full range of services including:

• General ultrasound – abdominal, renal, pelvic
• Obstetric ultrasound – dating, nuchal translucency (12 week scan), morphology scan (19-20 week scan), third trimester scan (fetal well being)
• Vascular ultrasound – arm and leg deep vein thrombosis (DVT), Doppler scans (leg, carotid and renal arteries)
• Musculoskeletal ultrasound – all types
• Small parts ultrasound – thyroid, scrotum, neck, face, salivary glands

We have operated in New South Wales for over 15 years and have long established relationships with local doctors and specialist practitioners.  Our practice is accredited by QIP (Quality Innovation Performance) for quality assurance, as well as the Fetal Medicine Foundation (nuchaltrans.edu.au) for 12 week obstetric Nuchal Translucency scans.

Gerard O’Connell
B Sc Hons Radiography, PGDip Medical Ultrasound, Accredited Medical Sonographer

Gerard is the owner of Go Sonics and principal sonographer.  Prior to establishing GoSonics 15 years ago, he worked as a sonographer within large radiology practices in Melbourne.  Gerard initially trained in the United Kingdom at the Royal Military College of Science, Oxford.  Gerard was awarded the James Prize for two consequetive years.  After qualification Gerard worked in several hospitals in the United Kingdom.  Gerard attended Monash Univeristy in Melbourne and was the recipient of the inaugural Australian Sonographers Association Student Award for overall excellence.

As a father of a young child, he understands the importance of providing a caring service where patients feel at ease.  Gerard enjoys watching the joy on expectant parents faces as they see their child for the first time.  Having worked in regional Australia for over 15 years, he has developed strong relationships with his patients, which in many cases has spanned generations.  Gerard participates in regular ongoing professional development and is committed to providing rural New South Wales with a first class ultrasound service.

 

Keith Zwart
Dip App Sc Diagnostic Radiography, PGDipMI-Medical Ultrasound with Distinction. AMS

Keith is a highly experienced sonographer who has worked in the industry for over 35 years at both specialist and managerial levels.  He is experienced in all facets of ultrasound and has a strong interest in musculoskeletal and vascular sonography.  Keith has provided locum services throughout Australia for the last 15 years.

Having worked in both public and private practices, Keith understands the importance of providing outstanding patient care that is timely and professional.

Keith is based in Melbourne where he works in a large private practice.
